Google Looking To Buy YouTube

Sunday 8 October 2006

Reports suggest Google are in talks to acquire the popular video-sharing service YouTube.

YouTube is currently one of the most popular web sites on the Internet, and a big success story since its launch in February 2005.

The site allows users to share media including film clips and music videos. Many people upload their own videos, however the amount of copyrighted material appearing on the site has become a big problem.

The company, which has yet to make a profit despite its success, would be a valuable addition to Google's range of services, especially as its own Google Video has not been as successful.
