First Flaws Discovered In Internet Explorer 7

Friday 27 October 2006

Security flaws have been discovered in the new Internet Explorer 7 browser just days after its launch earlier this week.

Security firm Secunia found a second flaw on Wednesday which could be exploited by malicious people for phishing purposes.

Secunia had found a different flaw just after the browser's release but this was refuted by Microsoft.

However this second flaw has been acknowledged as a genuine problem and Microsoft are investigating.

Users are meanwhile urged to be cautious when handing over personal information to web sites and to use the built-in Phishing Filter to check the security of particular web sites.
