Microsoft Office Tops Most Innovative Products Of 2006

A list of the most innovative software, web and hardware products in 2006 puts the new Microsoft Office 2007 in first place.

PC World have put together a list of 20 breakthroughs in technology this year, including Web-based operating systems, handheld devices, and the Nintendo Wii games console.

At the top of the list is Microsoft's Office 2007 software package. PC World gave the office suite first place for its new features that revolutionize how people work with documents, especially its "ribbon" menu interface.

Other winners include a Blu-Ray disc burner, the Rhapsody music streaming service and the Playstation 3 games console.

PC World also highlighted products to look out for in 2007 including Windows Vista SideShow and offline Ajax applications.
