Cisco Warns Users Routers Are Not Safe

Wednesday 21 February 2007

Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, is warning users that its router products may be vulnerable to attack.

Cisco Systems has told its customers they need to change their router passwords, as many of the routers it sells for use in home offices and small business would be vulnerable to an attack.

It was recently discovered by security researchers that hackers are able to launch attacks that take advantage of the fact that most users never change their default router passwords (Home Routers Vulnerable To Attack).

Cisco users as well as other router users are being urged to change their default password to protect their machines from attackers.
