Google Unveils Plus Box Search Feature

Friday 23 March 2007

Google has added a new feature to its search results which gives access to additional information such as stock prices and maps for businesses.

The Plus Box is a new interactive feature that appears alongside certain search results. For example, if a user searches for the "Apple" company, a plus symbol appears by the result which when clicked gives stock information.

Other Plus Boxes are also available which show maps and directions to a particular business.

The new tool is a way of presenting more information about a particular search result for users who want it, without pushing other results further down the page.

In the future Google plans to add more businesses to its Plus Box tool and also other types of information.
