Ask3D Search Launched

Tuesday 5 June 2007

Ask.com has launched Ask3D, its new-look search engine which gives users more types of results for their searches including videos, images and news.

Ask3D is the new name for the Ask.com search service, one of the top four search engines on the Web.

The 3D part of the name relates to the new 3-pane page display which gives users a greater selection from different types of results.

The left column shows the search box and options to narrow/expand your search. The middle column shows the main search results and information, and the right column shows matching entries in images, videos, music, news, blogs and more.

Google recently launched a similar redesign called Universal Search, but unlike Google the Ask3D service places the various types of results in their own separate sections on the page.
