Trojan In World Cup E-mail

Sunday 7 May 2006

A Trojan horse is attempting to attack computers through an e-mail offering a World Cup wallchart, according to security experts Sophos.

The Troj/Haxdoor-IN Trojan horse is spreading via a link in an e-mail which offers a free wallchart for the World Cup in Germany this summer. If PC users install the malicious program they risk opening their computers up to hackers.

So far the e-mails have been in German only but are likely to be translated into other languages soon, in order to reach more potential victims.

If you receive an e-mail like this, do not click the link and just delete it from your Inbox. Remember to regularly update your anti-virus software or set it to automatically download updates.
