Firefox Downloaded 200 Million Times

Monday 7 August 2006

Firefox, the popular web browser from Mozilla has passed the 200 million downloads mark.

By the end of July 2006 the software, which provides a safer alternative to Internet Explorer, had been downloaded 200 million times.

The figure shows the huge popularity of the browser, though Mozilla point out that it does not represent actual users as it includes the number of file downloads for both Firefox 1.0 and 1.5, as well as incomplete downloads.
