Amazon has launched a beta test version of its A9.com Maps site which lets you search for businesses and addresses in US cities then view street-level photos and get driving directions for these locations.

The site is effectively a virtual tour of 24 US cities with over 35 million photos.

Some of these photos are also featured alongside search results on Amazon Yellow Pages so that you can for example search for a particular shop and then see a photo of that shop as if you were standing in the street right outside of it.
