iPod Order E-mail Contains Trojan Horse

Tuesday 29 August 2006

Security experts Sophos are warning about a Trojan horse in malicious e-mails pretending to notify the recipient about an order for an Apple iPod.

The false e-mail claims an order for an Apple iPod is being shipped to the recipient by FedEx, and nearly $500 has been debited from their e-gold account.

The e-mail includes an attached file which can infect the user's PC with a Trojan horse, which will then attempt to download malicious code from the Internet.

Anyone who receives this spam e-mail is advised not to open the attachment, and instead delete the e-mail.
