Amazon Launches Video Download Service

Shopping site Amazon is now offering TV and film downloads via its new Unbox service.

Videos can be bought and downloaded direct to the user's computer, and include content from top film studios and TV channels.

Currently the service is only available to users in the United States, who will need to be running Windows XP and have a broadband connection.

Computer firm Apple are expected to launch their rival service next week, with the added advantage that their video downloads can be used on Apple's popular iPod media player.
