Adjusting image size

Hi everyone:

I was just wondering if adjusting size of a picture that somebody emailed me, is possible. Want to post an ad in our online local free classifieds but
am being informed that my pic is too big.
Any assistance would be muchly appreciated.

Hi.
Most image and photo editing programs allow you to resize picture files.

If you have Microsoft Paint on your computer you can use that as follows:
- Open the picture file and on the menu click on Image, then Stretch/Skew.
- Type the percentage amount by which you want the file to be "stretched" horizontally and vertically - so if you type 50% in both boxes it will actually halve the size of your pic.
- Click OK and you should now see the picture looks smaller.
- Click on the File menu then choose Save As.
- Type a File name for the picture, then in the Save As Type box underneath, choose "JPEG".
- Click Save.

Alternatively if you don't have Paint you can download a free program such as IrfanView, which has a Resize option where you can set the exact size you want:
