Missing DVD drives

I have a big problem now :(

I followed some instructions on another web site about updating my "motherboard chipset driver software"

Now my DVD drives don't show up in Windows anymore!!!! Help!!!! I can't use any CDs or DVDs

My chipset is nVidia nforce 2 and I was used the driver from here:

If you can, use System Restore to get back to the point before you installed the new driver.

Then, when you install the driver update make sure to un-tick the option to install the IDE drivers. These nVidia IDE drivers caused people a lot of problems with their CD drives not working properly or disappearing, which sounds like your problem.

If you can't use System Restore I think you can remove the IDE part by going to Add Remove Programs in Control Panel, click on nVidia driver and tell it to remove IDE. Restart your PC and it should then use Microsoft's default IDE driver instead.
