Powerpoint file too big!
Hey there, we have made a powerpoint presentation which we need to save to either a floppy or a CDROM, but it's apparently 19,500 odd KB (or MB, I forget) So the disky things say it's too big for their poor little selves :P. Any ideas? Can we make it littler? Any assistance much appreciated :)

With PowerPoint, large images or photos are often the cause of large file sizes.
Do the following for each image to compress it:
1. Click the picture to select it.
2. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
3. Again on the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
4. Click JPG.
5. Delete the original image.
This should reduce the overall filesize but it will probably still be too large for a floppy disk.
To transfer a large file like this, for example onto a PC with a CD writer, you could use a service such as SendThisFile. This is a website which allows you to send them a file which will be stored in a special area, for you to retrieve and download to any PC within 3 days. It is a service I have used, it's easy to use and seems to work well.
This is the process for getting a free account at SendThisFile and how to send your file:
1. Go to https://www.sendthisfile.com/register.jsp
2. Enter your e-mail address, choose a password and click Register
3. Check your email account for a message from SendThisFile. Within the message is a link you must click to verify your e-mail is correct
4. Now log in to the website with your e-mail address and password
5. You now have a form to fill out for sending your file:
- Enter your own e-mail address in the Recipient box
- Click Browse and find the file on the PC (as you would when attaching a file to an e-mail) and click Open
- Click Send This File
6. The file will now transfer from your PC to the website (with a large file this may take a while)
7. When it has finished, on the PC you want to transfer the file to check your e-mail account for a message (you may need to make sure you've logged out of your e-mail account on the previous computer first)
8. Inside the message is the link to your file on the website. Click this link and then click Retrieve Your File
9. Save the file to this PC
