Thumbs file

Hi, does anyone know what a Thumbs file is when it's at home???

I keep seeing it in my picture folders and on the desktop too. I've tried clicking it but nothing happens and it's annoying, can I get rid of it?

Thanks for any help :D

It's nothing bad, it's just a file Windows creates to store the small thumbnail images you get when you're viewing a folder in thumbnail view.

You don't normally see the Thumbs file unless you've changed your Folder Options to let you see hidden files.

Open a folder and click on Tools at the top, then Folder Options. Click on the View tab and tick "Do not show hidden files and folders" then click OK.
